Permanent and contract Civil Enforcement Officer & Traffic Warden jobs
Civil Enforcement Officers are the new name for Car Park Attendants / Traffic Wardens. They came into being under the new Traffic Management Act and have wider reaching powers than before.
The main job for a Civil Enforcement Officer is still to ensure that parking controls and restrictions are observed and enforced in a fair, sensible manner. This can include issuing tickets by post. In addition to this there may be duties such as inspecting parking equipment (e.g. kerbside payment meters) and generally offering parking advice to passing motorists and members of the community.
Part of the average Civil Enforcement Officer job will involve liaising with the local police informing them of any criminal activity, reporting any suspect vehicles and informing the DVLA of vehicles with no valid tax disc. If they witness any crimes, they can be called on by the police to give evidence in court.
