Investigative assistants often provide vital support in a large team, taking the pressure off other team members by undertaking some of the more routine tasks such as report writing and evidence gathering along with some administrative work. Your own investigative skills will often be put to good use themselves and any experience gained as a police officer would certainly be most useful and appreciated by your colleagues.
