Since passing the Anti-Social Behaviour Act 2003 to give the police more powers to tackle the problem there has become a need for ASB officers to support the local police forces. Anti-social behaviour is defined as anything, which causes distress or harassment in any section of the community. Anti social behaviour is a major concern for many communities and so there has become an increasing reliance on anti social behaviour orders and consequently there has become a need for ASB co-ordinators jobs within the community.

The Anti-Social Behaviour Co-ordinator will bring together different agencies to target individuals who are persistent offenders. A solution will then be drawn up, which could include an acceptable behaviour contract or an anti-social behaviour order and it will be the job of the ASB co-ordinator to work alongside the police to ensure it is enforced. The Co-ordinators advise and work with neighbourhood beat managers to assist them with the use of the recent legislation to deal with anti-social behaviour. This is extremely challenging work, but it plays a vital part in making communities safer and more pleasant for all residents.

There is no one set ideal set of qualifications to become an ASB co-ordinator but you will need to have excellent communication and reasoning skills.
